What's Needed For Political CHANGES To Make A Difference?

  • By
One of the most over - used terms, expressions, and political rhetoric, is when a politician, proclaims he will be the vehicle for change! Unfortunately, far more than we might hope, these proclamations, avoid focused, relevant solutions, and rather, merely, are, little, more - than - empty rhetoric! Change, for - change - sake, rarely improves things, in a sustainable manner, but, rather, often seems to break - down, to little more than blaming and complaining! Constituents should demand, their leaders, proceed, to avoid irrelevant issues, and create solutions, focusing on CHANGES, which might make a difference, for the better. Therefore, this article will attempt to briefly review and examine, using the mnemonic approach, why this approach is so essential and meaningful.
1. Choices; character; clear: There is always, more than one way, to proceed, in nearly every circumstance, etc. Measure a leader, by how he determines, his choices and options, and opts for the best possible solutions! It's often the character, someone exhibits, when there are challenges, which distinguishes, between unifying others, rather than polarizing them! They must avoid using empty rhetoric, but rather, provide clear priorities, approaches, and solutions.
2. Humane; healing; head/ heart: I don't recall, any previous period, in recent memory, where there was so little empathetic leadership, and so much focus, on serving only one's core supporters! Whether one supports or opposes, President Donald Trump, all should agree, he often lacks essential humanity and/ or compassion, and rather than focusing on healing and unity, often polarizes! We need public officials who combine their emotional and logical components, and proceed, with a head/ heart balance!
3. Articulate; attention; attitude: Avoid voting for anyone who focuses solely on his core supporters, rather than the public, at large! Examine their behavior, and seek officials, with a positive, can - do, motivating attitude, rather than dwelling on negativity! How someone articulates his message, and focuses it, often, is quite instructive!
4. Needs: Whose needs, does that official serve? Unless/ until, the priority is serving the needs of the electorate, rather than a personal agenda, and/ or self - interest, we won't achieve meaningful changes!
5. Growth; generate goodwill: Many, including me, believe we have never witnessed, any President, like Donald Trump. While some may believe that's a good thing, and others might disagree strongly, there is little doubt, his continuous focus and emphasis, on his core supporters, rather than serving all Americans, does not generate goodwill! Trump's campaign slogan, Make America Great Again, emphasizes the past (in a revisionist way), rather than creating and developing quality, relevant, sustainable growth!
6. Empathetic; energizing; enduring; excellence: When public officials exhibit a willingness to listen, rather than proceeding, in a My way or the highway manner, he becomes capable of exhibiting the necessary, empathetic leadership! Seek individuals who consistently energize us, and focus on excellence, rather than mere rhetoric! Examine solutions, and demand enduring, viable, relevant solutions!
7. Solutions; sustainable system: When someone prioritizes popularity and politics, rather than providing relevant, necessary plans and solutions, we will rarely be served effectively, because we deserve and need, a meaningful, sustainable system. This administration seems to be denying future needs, such as environmental, clean air and water, health care, etc!
Change is only rhetoric, unless the proposed CHANGES, focus on improving, rather than, merely, changing things! Now, more than ever, America needs responsible leadership!
